Professional Procrastinator

Here we are.
Months after lambasting many of my friends for creating blogs, and sneering at the idea of writing down senseless blather for the "masses" online, I have - wait for it - started my own blog.

Here's why: I am moving 3.5 hours away in about a month, and instead of doing something productive (like packing my massive closet, shopping for furniture, or even looking for apartments online) I choose to procrastinate. Without knowing exactly what form this blog will take, I will start with a disclaimer:

(to borrow some words from director, Baz Lurhmann)
The rest of my blog has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.

In one month, I will be returning to the place of my birth. Wichita, Kansas does not have quite the metropolitan or cosmopolitan allure of many of the places I have imagined living; however, it does have one major qualifier: a job. So, my glorious homecoming will come on the heels of an unexpected promotion.  I begin this blog with two hopes: the first, that I can actually put to use by BA in English Literature; the second, that I will have a place to document my journey from my parents home in Kansas City to my own place in Wichita.

At the behest of BestFriend (who has her own blog) and TheDude (who knows a lot of people who blog), I will write (hopefully) semi-frequently. Don't expect any type of form with this blog. I will probably write about things that come to mind. And document my inevitable failings in my moving process.

(insert clever sign-off, which I will think of later)
